Privacy Policy

We built Assayer so that the most personal thing about your Fortnite habit, your locker, can be appraised without being uploaded. This policy explains the little we do collect and why.

1. Who we are

Assayer is operated by Assayer Software Inc., 285 Chestnut Way, Brooklyn, NY 11216, United States ("Assayer", "we", "us"). This policy covers assayer.gg, the Assayer web app and the Assayer desktop apps for Windows and macOS (together, the "Service"). Assayer is an independent product and is not affiliated with Epic Games, Inc.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers or social media pixels.

3. What stays on your device

The free appraisal on our website saves your item counts in your browser's local storage so the receipt is still there when you come back. That data is not sent to us. In the desktop app, the screenshots you add are read on your computer; the images and the list of recognized items are stored locally and are never uploaded unless you choose to export or sync an appraisal.

Assayer never asks for, receives or stores your Epic Games username, password or login codes.

4. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Assayer, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing services to us: our cloud hosting provider, our payment processor, our email delivery provider and our crash-reporting provider. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the company, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

6. How long we keep it

7. Children

Fortnite is played by many teenagers, so we designed Assayer to work without an account. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Assayer Plus may only be purchased by an adult or with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email privacy@assayer.gg and we will delete it.

8. Your privacy rights

Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to send you a copy. We will respond within 45 days.

California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws have similar rights, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. We will not discriminate against you for using any of these rights.

To make a request, email privacy@assayer.gg or write to us at the address below. We may ask you to confirm your email address to verify the request.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest on our servers. Access is limited to staff who need it to support you. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law if a breach affects your information.

10. Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will email Assayer Plus subscribers at least 14 days before it takes effect.
